Snooze time

Mobile Photo Marathon: When Mummy finishes a night shift at the hospital, she usually sleeps on the sofa until Daddy comes back from work.

It's the perfect time to cuddle up to her on her tummy and snooze. The sound of her breathing and heartbeat is so soothing.

New Ruggy Smell

Mobile Pic Marathon: Daddy came home with this new rug on Thursday. Look at it. It has green and light brown leaves! I love the smell of a new rug so much that I have to roll about on it to make it mine! Do you like rolling around on brand new rugs? Oh and see that black bit? It's a new piece of furniture, but I won't tell you what it is until it is ready to be shown. MOL!

Late Night Cuddles

Mobile Pic Marathon: Well it's past midnight and Mummy and Daddy have just decided to go to bed. I thought I would join them and cuddle up on Mummy's lap. Normally, Daddy will read out to Mummy what ever book he is reading at that time because he knows that she finds his voice soothing and helps her relax before falling asleep. What he might not realise is that My Dear Xanthe, Daeda and Me like it when he reads out loud too at bedtime and while Mummy is falling asleep we are attentively listening to his story until he finally stops and falls asleep too.

Update from Nishiko

Meows to All! I'm back! Well I don't know what Mummy did to our blog, but she lost all our pictures from it and it took her a whole weekend to get back to it's current state. Silly Mummy!

Then Mummy went on holiday to see her family because there was a new human born and Mummy's Mummy was having a birthday party.

But now everything is sorted and Mummy is back home so all should be back to normal...

What?! Wait! Mummy and Daddy are going away for the weekend?! Oh no!

Donations and Feathers

Meows to All! I hope you are all feeling purrfect? I am. I've been feeling good all week.

After our Cats Protection Charity Aid last weekend, Mummy said that we did so well with all of our chosen subjects that she has decided to made a donation of £15.00! Me, Nishi and Daedalus are so happy that we are able to help all those Kitizens who are suffering. We know that it  isn't much, but Mummy says that every little bit helps.

Other news, Mummy met Daddy for lunch this week and went to the pond near Daddy's work place. There are lots of Ducks there and Mummy found a bunch of Duck Feathers and brought a bag home full of them for us to play with! Me and Nishiko have had Pheasant feathers in the past from Mummy's Dear Old Grandad, but never a Duck Feather...

Oh! They smell so good!

Support Daeda's cause...

This weekend the McCormack Cats will be promoting their chosen Charity - Cats Protection.

Meows to all Kitizens and Citizens,

Me and Mummy have been talking about what my chosen subject should be for this weekend's Cats Protection Charity aid.

In the middle of the night I came up with an idea . I grabbed my RattleSnake and walked him up the stairs to Mummy and Daddy's room and sat on the bed with him, meowing to wake Mummy up.

"Baby Boy, it's not time to play..." Mummy said.
I said "Mummy I got an idea for my subject."
She asked me what it was and I said "Well you know I have my RattleSnake and lots of toys to play with. You and Daddy give us lots of food and treats. But there are Kitizens in the world that don't have these things and I think it is a good idea to bring that to everyone's attention."
Mummy agreed. So here goes...

My chosen subject for this weekend's Cats Protection Charity aid is - STOP Kittens Being Born to Suffer!

Some Citizens keep cats and kittens without looking after them - they give little or no food or water. The Kitizens don't have any toys to play with. Some don't have proper litter trays and have to go to the toilet all over the house, making it very smelly. It's no position any Kitizen wants to be in.

I looked to see what Cats Protection can do to help and they are very nice people as they can give the food and water these Kitizens need. A warm bed and care are given to all. And, at four months old, all kittens are safely neutered which stop any unwanted pregnancies.

Thousands of unwanted Kitizens have been helped already but we can help thousands more! Please ask your Mummys and Daddys to give a small donation to Cats Protection!Or if you are not in the UK, please donate to your local charity!

Support Nishi's cause...

This weekend the McCormack Cats will be promoting their chosen Charity - Cats Protection.

Meows to all Kitizens and Citizens,

My chosen subject for this weekend's Cats Protection Charity Aid is - STOP Young Cats' Lives Being Put in Danger!

I am so grateful that I have a forever home with my Mummy and Daddy who love me dearly and who were good enough to get us all neutered so that we can live healthier and safer lives. But I know that not all Kitizens are as lucky as Us.

Young heavily pregnant Kitizens are left unprotected to diseases like cancer, FIV, womb and mammary infections, and many dangers of labour including death of their kittens and themselves. Their lives are being put in worse danger when they are abandoned by their forever homes.

If that had ever happened to Me, I would have felt so many things - I would be scared out of my mind and so stressed out. I would feel terribly lonely, sad, unwanted and unloved.

But Cats Protection help by providing emergency care to these young Mother Cats and then neuter them so they are not in danger again. They can even provide emergency caesareans to save cats and their kittens so not as many have to go to the rainbow bridge before their time.

If you would like to help us help them just ask your Mummys and Daddys to give a small donation to Cats Protection!

Support Xanthe's cause...

This weekend the McCormack Cats will be promoting their chosen Charity - Cats Protection.

Meows to all Kitizens and Citizens,

My chosen subject for this weekend's Cats Protection Charity Aid is - STOP Kittens having Kittens!

Did you know that a female kitizen can become pregnant at just 4 months old?! Isn't that horrible? We're still just only kittens at that age! And yet there are many young kittens who are being abandoned because of this terrible nightmare. It's not right for a kitten to have kittens, is it.

I remember my Birth Mummy trying to look after Me, Nishiko and our 4 litter sisfurs. It wasn't an easy job for her and she was a fully grown cat. She had to keep us warm and give us milk. She had to teach us everything she knew so that we could become the Kitizens we are today. But she became very drained of energy and became very skinny because she was giving us all the nutrients she needed to keep herself healthy.

I can't imagine a kitten going through what a fully grown Mummy Cat goes through and to be abandoned by their forever home on top of it all. At that age a kitten can barely look after themselves let alone a litter of her own kittens. Poor Kitties! It breaks my heart...

But we can help them by asking our Mummys and Daddys to give a small donation to Cats Protection! They can provide for these abandoned pregnant kittens, help them bring up their first litter and then neuter them so that they won't have to worry about having anymore.

I hope you can help us help them.

Update from Nishi

Meows to all! Nishiko here with an update on how we are doing.

We are sorry about the lack of posts this last week but Mummy has been really busy with work and then she became poorly. We're all looking after her - some more so than others (see photo above, it's me on Mummy's lap).

We've got a new box to play in and a new treat ball too, which Daedalus keeps hogging. Mummy has to put him in the kitchen whilst Me and Dear Xanthe have a go at getting kitty bickies out of it. I love the treat ball and kick it all over the place with my paws but Xanthe isn't as adept as me and only pushes it with her nose. But she manages quite well.

Daedalus has been chipped. I heard Mummy tell Daddy that he made such a fuss that the VET needed to bring in a muscle man to hold him down in a towel! I thought I'd never say this but good on you Daeda Boy - we have to be feisty when it comes to the VET - I have taught him well!

Mummy found out that she has got a place at College to study Midwifery... She said that it means that in a few years time - if she is able to pass it - she'll be able to help Citizen mothers through pregnancy and delivery little humans. Well because of the good news, Mummy and Daddy celebrated with a KFC so we got a treat too.

Nishi's Turn?

So Xanthe and Daeda Boy have both been CHIPPED and for good reason too. If they should go passed the front door or the back garden and get lost when they are found they should be able to come home.

But what about me? Well I don't need to take a visit to the VET! I'm so happy! Why? Because I have already got my CHIP. I had it many moons ago when we lived in our old house. All Mummy had to do was go on to the computer and update my information so that if I get lost I can come home here instead of our old house which is a very long way away.

I did have to remind Mummy though because she had forgotten about it. She changed my information while she was putting Xanthe's information on the computer. Now come on Mummy put down that photobox and concentrate on getting me some Kitty Bickies!

I'm OK

Xanthe is always on Mummy's lap when Mummy is posting for us or when we are checking out all our Kitizens' blog posts. Me, I have to squeeze under the desk and on top of the computer tower. I don't mind too much though because it's nice and warm! I wish it was a little softer though.

Mancat Monday

Xanthe came up to me early this morning and whispered in my ear that I am to have a CHIP on Friday!
She said "I already got mine from the VET."
I said "But I don't like chips and I'm not keen on going to the VET!"

2nd Visit to the VET!

I couldn't believe it when Mummy packed me up in the Kitty Carrier again, yesterday. As soon as we got out of the house I started screaming at her "Mommy I haven't jumped from the bedroom window and I haven't hurt myself! We don't need to go to the horrible VET!"
Mummy said "I'm not taking you for that, Xanthe. We're going to go to the vet to get you CHIPPED."

I didn't know what she meant by that.
Mummy told me "We need to get you chipped in case you leave the house or the garden and get lost. If you get lost and someone finds you then they can take you to the vet and the vet can scan you with a special machine which will detect the chip with all your information on it and bring you back home."

It sounded interesting and helpful too.
We got to the VET and she put a big needle in my fur and put the CHIP under my skin and that was that. All Mummy had to do was type my details into the computer. So simple and it didn't hurt either.
Mummy said "You're a brave girl, Xanthe."
Yes I am!

Mancat Monday

Last Tuesday we had a visitor at the house. Mummy and Daddy had been busy tidying the house from head to toe - if it had a head or a toe at all - before her arrival. It took them all weekend. The house was spotless, not a flick of dust or a cat hair in sight.

Well this lady came and had a good look around. I tried my best to make friends with the lady by showing her my handsomeness. I rubbed myself against the walls and the legs of tables and chairs and I showed that I was pleased to meet her with my happy tail. Mummy noticed me and gave me a cuddle, seeing that I was trying to say "hello". But the lady didn't bother looking at me, even when Mummy pointed me out to her.

Mummy asked the lady, "Don't you like cats?"
The lady cringed and said "I'm not a pet person."
Mummy asked "Why not?"

The lady said it was because she had children?! Me and Mummy were very surprised by her answer. I thought she was a rude and cheeky lady!
